Celtic Word On The Tweet

‘Outstanding is an understatement’ – Loads of Celtic fans couldn’t believe one star’s display

|

Celtic supporters loved the performance of goalkeeper Scott Bain on Thursday night, despite the team crashing out of the UEFA Europa League with another defeat.

The Hoops were knocked out by Valencia, with the Spaniards winning 1-0 at home to add to their 2-0 victory at Celtic Park last week.

Result wise it was another disappointing evening, but fans were happy with the effort and performance on display from Brendan Rodgers’ players, with Bain getting more praise than most.

The former Dundee goalkeeper was a titan between the sticks for the Hoops, making a number of crucial, instinctive saves that demonstrated exactly why he is the club’s number one goalkeeper right now.

Yet to concede a goal in domestic football in 2019, he was replaced veteran Craig Gordon as Rodgers’ goalkeeping pick.

His distribution is far better than Gordon’s and last night showed he also has the raw shot-stopping ability to keep elite teams out.

Fans were delighted by his display, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
