Many Celtic supporters weren’t happy to see The Green Brigade display a banner in opposition to defender Dedryck Boyata on Sunday.
The fan group unveiled a pre-match message which stated: “Boyata – Not Fit To Wear The Jersey”.

It came after a dramatic few weeks involving the Belgian, his agent and decision makers at the club.
A bid from Fulham for the player was rejected, sparking a series of events that culminated in the player declaring himself unfit for matches against AEK Athens and FK Suduva.
It looked as if he may have played his last ever game for the club, but clear-the-air talks with Brendan Rodgers and captain Scott Brown led to his inclusion in first-team training again and ultimately his participation in Sunday’s match against Hamilton, a match he scored the winning goal in.
The whole situation is fairly messy and even though many fans are unhappy with his actions, many feel some fans went too far on Sunday with the display and booing the 27-year-old.
Greeted warmly by his teammates in celebration of his goal, it seems that for now he is a welcome part of the Celtic squad and hopefully everyone can move on in harmony wherever he ends up playing his football this season.
These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
If the Green Brigade are going to question Boyata's commitment to the team then by unfurling a banner to crucify the guy like that then I question the GB's commitment to supporting the team. Back every player on the pitch IMO.

Seeing the banner today about boyata was pathetic it’s just giving the media stuff to write negative things about us which is not good for the team fans & manager to see ????

Forget all this Boyata rage. Where’s the banner asking questions of the board ? Where’s the banner asking why we squander money on pish players ? With the correct scouting & funding, we should be laughing. Complacency & wastefulness will ultimately kill our run of trophies.

far from happy with boyata and his antics the last few weeks but i don't agree with the banner or booing am behind every Celtic player when they put the shirt on I trust Rodgers has made the right decision every 1 should move on especially with such a big week ahead. @ClydeSSB

Puzzled as to why the Green brigade choose to slag Boyata in the banner when it was a opertunity to get a message across to the board with 1 week remaining in the transfer window …. #celtic

Don't agree with boyata's actions over the last couple weeks but that banner from the GB was shocking, happy for the bigman scoring, showed up when we needed someone to ????

Of course there was reason to be upset at the Boyata thing, but the Green Brigade scored a proper own goal today with the banner. No single element of the support can speak for all.
Back the team, and every player in it.
Otherwise, don’t bother turning up.

Boyata banner from Green Brigade was awful. Team and BR have forgiven him, he walked out in a Celtic jersey, played well and scored winning goal. Those "fans" that booed the winning goal should take a good look at themselves. Nobody is bigger than #celtic Inc Green Brigade.
