Celtic’s Liel Abada has been in sensational form for the club since his move from Maccabi Petah Tikva last summer.
This site has reported on numerous occassions just how successful Abada has been since joining the club and, up until this season, the Israeli was the first name on the Celtic team sheet.
Now, Ange Postecoglou seems to prefer Daizen Maeda on the right side of Celtic’s attacking front three and even after Abada’s goal scoring exploits this season, he will need to settle for being an impact player off the bench.
But it’s not just his performances on the pitch that has the 21 year old making headlines.
Not so long ago he switched agents and that led to whispers that he could be looking to move on next summer [Football Scotland].
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, the Celtic heirarchy may be concerned at this switch as it could indicate a desire to move on sooner rather than later.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke said, “Obviously, they’ll be thinking there’s a lot of rumours going around when their players switch agents.
“That maybe they’re thinking of moving on, but they’ll be hoping there’s nothing too sinister in this one, that maybe he’s just changed representatives.
“I think it’s the same agent now as his teammate Juranovic in that respect.”
I personally don’t think Celtic have anything to worry about and even if they did, the club do have the advantage.
With four years left on his contract, Celtic can demand big money for Abada should any of the EPL clubs come calling but the player himself has continually spoken of how happy he is at the club [Daily Record].
Abada knows he an grow and develop at the club whilst winning trophies and competing in Europe.
To leave now could be detrimental to his development as players like Odsonne Edouard have found.
