Celtic are well on track for number eight in a row in the league now and, indeed, on course for a third treble straight.

Certainly, the weekend just gone could prove to be the pivotal moment in the league race at the least with Rangers now eight points off of the pace and looking far from good enough to catch us.

We’ve been excellent since the start of the second half of this season, and midfielder Scott Brown has done a wonderful job of silencing the critics too.

Indeed, he was the winner for us on Sunday and caused wild scenes in the away end – eventually getting a second yellow for it all.

It was a joyous moment, though, and really things like that take the fun out of the game.

That said, Danny Murphy has come across a bit bitter with what he has had to say about it, with him telling talkSPORT yesterday at 10:09 am:

“I don’t have too much sympathy, I mean don’t get me wrong some players will take a yellow card and just be done with it, but when it leads to a sending off it becomes more highlighted.

“I’ve got no sympathy, the players know the rules and actually I think if it prevents only one incident of a kid getting hurt, to stop the stampede or the rush, it’s worth doing it.”

How many people really get injured, though? And you’re not telling me he’s been restrained in late minute winners.

It’s an odd swipe to be taking, to be honest, and it’s a shame we’re even having this debate.
