In what is arguably the most talked about story of the season so far, apart from the Hamilton commentator being “dumped”, the next Celtic manager is a discussion that will continue to rumble on until either he (Neil Lennon) is removed from his position before the end of the season or he steps down or he waits until the end of the season when his contract expires.
The names being bandied about by the bookies, if they are to be believed, have certainly got the Celtic fans excited and looking forward to the new season. Rafa Benitez, Eddie Howe, Enzo Maresca and Andre Villas Boas have all been outed as the bookies favourites to take the hot seat in the summer, but ex Rangers and Scotland midfielder, Barry Ferguson, believes that the manager that the Celtic board have chosen is already at the club.
Ferguson believes current boss ,Neil Lennon, will still be in charge for the start of the new season, and that is news that is sure to upset the Hoops fans. Speaking on Go Radio, Ferguson said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s still the manager for next season.
“That’s my honest opinion, I’m not trying to do that to annoy Celtic supporters, if you listen to Neil Lennon, everyone knows there’s going to be a full rebuild and heard Neil say he’s looking forward to that.
“That tells me that Neil Lennon might be the one who is going to carry on.”
From the reaction on social media as Lennon remains in charge of the club, it is an opinion that will certainly upset the majority of the Hoops fans if this prediction comes true.
