Man alive. After my piece yesterday on the Daily Record’s reporting of all things wrong at Parkhead, I missed a piece written about Celtic fans by a blogger FOR the newspaper. Yes, you read it right. A national newspaper is giving Rangers bloggers space on their online site to gloat about Celtic fans taking their eye off the ball.  I’ve linked to it because it’s

The piece is a weird but wonderful tale of how Dave King’s “pack of cards prophecy” is coming true and that somehow Rangers “process” has led them to where they are now.

First off. Let’s look at the “Rangers process”. Since they “returned” to the league set up, Rangers have posted losses season upon season. Let’s take a look:

2012/13 -£14m
2013/14 – £8.1m
2014/15 – £7.5m
2015/16 – £3.3m
2016/17 – £6.7m
2017/18 – £14.3m
2018/19 – £11.3m

That’s £65.2m pounds of losses since 2012. A further £16.5m of losses was announced just weeks ago which takes that total to a staggering £81.7m and all they have to show for it is a Petrofac Cup and a Scottish Championship and still not a single major honour.  Since Rangers “return” to the Premiership, Celtic have won EVERY single domestic trophy available. Although the cup run is over, the trophy still sits at Parkhead until the tournament comes to its conclusion later in the season.

Since their birth in 2012, Rangers have gone through NINE managers (including Murty’s two spells as interim).  They have signed over ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY players (160) in their quest to get through the lower leagues and into the Premiership and challenge Celtic for the top prize in Scottish football.  Can someone please explain to me what “process” Rangers have followed.

And, after all that. After all the money, all the managers and all the players, the Ibrox side STILL have nothing to show. No doubt, this season the team from Govan has improved. No doubt we have a title fight on, but gloating like this from a Rangers blogger when it is still only December and they are still to add anything of note to their trophy cabinet is laughable.

Best to keep your powder dry until there is silverware in the boardroom as this can come back and bite you in the proverbial.

Will they ever learn?
