Leigh Griffiths has continued his impressive rehabilitation and reformation with a hat-trick against St Mirren at Celtic Park which earned the hitman the SPFL “Star Man” award in their Team of the Week.

The Scotland international has been like the proverbial new signing since returning from the winter break with eight goals and three assists, helping to fire Celtic to a surely unassailable lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with it now appearing that coronavirus is the biggest threat to the Hoops being crowned 9-in-a-row champions.

The contrast between Griffiths’ form before and after the winter break is remarkable, with the former Hibernian striker struggling to get any consistency in either selection or performance when he was called upon earlier in the season.

Neil Lennon’s shift in formation has paid dividends, not only for Griffiths having Odsonne Edouard supplying him with ammunition, but with the team as a whole remaining unbeaten domestically and dropping points just once in 2020 against Livingston.

Will Leigh Griffiths lead the line for Scotland against Israel?

Yes

No

No

Griffiths is hoping that his form earns him an international recall and with Scotland knowing that two wins against Israel then Norway or Serbia sends them to Euro 2020 and they will be keeping their fingers crossed that the in-form striker can fire them to a major tournament for the first time since 1998.
