Many Celtic supporters can’t get the idea of signing Jeffrey Bruma out of their minds, after German newspaper Bild claimed that the club were preparing to make a £7m bid for the player.
It seems like one of the more outlandish transfer rumours of the summer window so far, but given the state of the defensive line at Celtic Park right, it has got everyone excited anyway.
Bruma is a 25-cap Dutch international who has experience playing at a high level with Chelsea, PSV, Hamburg and Wolfsburg. In many respects he is exactly the type of defender supporters have been crying out for; he’s strong, physical and aggressive, traits that some current defenders at the club lack.
The prospect of signing him is slim, but is there a chance the club pulls off a big defensive signing in the final week of the window?
