This was THE big transfer story of the month. In fact, it was THE biggest transfer story of the year!

It was like a bad soap opera where you know the storyline, you know what’s going to happen, but you just can’t stop watching for a different outcome as some Celtic fans hoped that Odsonne Edouard may sign a new contract extension and stay on at the Hoops.

With a new manager with a fresh, professional approach and the return of crowds to the stadiums and the inclusion of a brand of exciting football, speculation was that Edouard may fancy another season at Paradise to regain his form and flailing reputation amongst the Celtic support.

It wasn’t to be and the big Frenchman clinched a £15m move to English Premier League minnows, Crystal Palace. With add-ons the final amount is reported to be closer to £20m.

With this transfers being the most high profile since Moussa Dembelé’s £18m move to Lyon back in 2018, you would think that a massive news corporation like Sky Sports would get ever single detail of the transfer down to crossing the I’s and dotting the T’s.

You thought wrong. They couldn’t even get the players name correct in an unbelievable mistake that needs to be seen to be believed.

I can see why the error was made. Of course, I jest, but the unprofessionalism shown in this report is not new when it comes Sky Sports and Scottish football and it is little wonder that most Scottish football fans preferred BT Sports coverage of the game.
