With the end of the transfer window coming up in just over ten days time, there has been mounted speculation on the future of Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard.

With the big Frenchman being linked to Brighton and Southampton recently, there doesn’t seem to be much movement in the way of a transfer as yet as the France u21 wage demands seem to be putting off potential suitors.

All the chat amongst the Celtic supporters now, is that with the Ange Postecoglou revolution going into overdrive, we are seeing players starting to enjoy their football again and amongst those player that have seen a mini revival of form is Edouard, is will the Frenchman stay or go?

If he stays, Celtic look to lose out on a potential £15-£18m windfall, but he could help Celtic win the league and gain entry to the Champions League group stages and a potential £40m jackpot.

It is a conundrum and one that former Hoops striker John Hartson has the answer to.

When asked on Go Radio whether Celtic should cash in, Hartson surprisingly said, “No. I’m coming from a Celtic point of view.

“And I think if you can get Kyogo and Edouard, a happy flying Edouard, both in the same team, then I think that gives Celtic a huge opportunity to go and get goals and to play well and to link together.

“But then again, if you don’t win the league, you leave yourself in a precarious position then because you might have turned down offers. But for me personally, I would take the hit and I would try and keep him.”

It is certainly a high risk strategy and one that if Celtic get correct it would be a genius move, but get it wrong, and the club are left waving goodbye to millions, in more ways than one.
