It is absolutely 100% fair to say that Ange Postecoglou has changed the way Celtic play for life. Is life a stretch or shall we say the next few years?

But there is no doubt now, that whenever Ange decides to move on (and lets hope that is not for many, many years yet) the Celtic fans will demand the same style of football they are witnessing now under the big Aussie.

But things could have been so much different if the SFA had listened to Ange’s former backroom staff, Craig Moore.

Moore revealed on The Go Radio Football Show, that he had recommended Postecoglou to the SFA for for the managers job just before they hired Steve Clarke over two years ago.

It was a stunning revelation as Moore revealed, “I’m a little bit, I would say, surprised in terms of how quickly things have turned around for Celtic because in the two or three weeks, it really has changed enormously.

“But secondly, like am I surprised? Well no, like I said, I’ve had the advantage to work with Ange.  I’ve been part of his backroom staff and he was someone that I pushed to the SFA at the time a lot a good two and a bit years ago.

“It was to the SFA at the time and it was just a coach and obviously I knew that was going well.

“My biggest thing is sometimes in Scotland, it’s a little bit you only know what you only know kind of thing. There’s not a huge look outside

“Whereas I’ve been back in Australia for those 10 or 12 years and I’m thinking, if someone were willing to be brave and look outside the box, there’s a lot of opportunities out there.

“And Angela on the national team Knew way his head was at. But that was there two, two and a half years ago.

“The reaction was he was a coach that we were monitoring at the time and they were monitoring four, five, six coached at that time.”

Could you imagine what the landscape of Scottish football would look like if that move went ahead? Would the Scotland team coped with the physical and technical demands of Angeball?

Thankfully we will never find. Scotland’s loss is Celtic’s gain and I’m sure we can all be thankful that the SFA short sightedness when it comes to appointments was in place back then.
