The Best 11

With the Celts finally back in league action this week at home to Aberdeen, the fact that the Parkhead side have several options, none of which would significantly weaken the first 11, this only goes to show the wealth of talent available to Ange Postecoglou.

The first of many questions for Ange is, who will partner CCV at centre back following the injury to Carl Starfelt on international duty.

Both Julian and Welsh in particular looking impressive over the pre season period or will he go with Celtic’s new loan singing Jenz?

Welsh currently seems to be the preferred choice among the fan base, however, Ange may wish to start the new man to see exactly what he has to offer.

Midfield is probably the area of the team where the Celts have the most choice, especially with the singing of Aaron Mooy this summer.

The obvious starter in midfield is our outstanding captain Calum McGregor. Another strong choice is Japanese star Hatate.

After a solid pre season and a much needed rest, hopefully we can once again see him at his absolute best.

I personally would start O’Reilly in the third midfield spot due to his fine form after his January transfer last season.

The front three boils down to one big question. Kyogo or Giakoumakis?

With the wide slots almost certainly being occupied by Jota and Maeda, both strikers are lethal in the position, but Kyogo is the favourite to start due to his pace and work rate for the team.
