Paranoia. That’s what they accuse us of when we point out ‘strange’ and consistent honest mistakes.
Referees have never been under such scrutiny since the introduction of VAR.
It seems that the new technology has done one of two things.
Either it has shown up the referees for just how incompetent they are or it has uncovered what many Celtic fans have believed for decades.
We all know what that is but the media will always say that referees are just human and they will always make mistakes.
And the phrase ‘honest mistakes’ was coined.
But when refereeing decisions seem to go for one team in the league over and above all others in the league, then it’s not just the Celtic fans that should be wary.
And when you look at this penalty stat delivered by Lint, it should make fans of all clubs sit up and take notice:
32% of Celtic goals conceded in the League this season have been penalties.
0% of Rangers goals conceded in the League this season have been penalties.

Take the Celtic stat out of the equation for a second, the fact that Rangers have had no penalties conceded against them this season is an alarming stat.
Many will argue that Rangers do most of the attacking and that is the reason why they have few penalties awarded against them, but then the question should be asked, if that is the reason, then why do Celtic have so many awarded against us?
It’s a question that should be posed by all clubs in Scotland, not just Celtic.
But as usual, it won’t be and we and the rest just need to keep sucking it up and moving on.
