To be honest, this is something I had never heard about Celtic keeper Joe Hart.

Joe Hart has always been a player that, before he joined Celtic, I felt was slightly over rated.

Susceptible to a mistake or two and easily beat at his near post, Hart was one that I was not convinced about when he joined Celtic.

How wrong was I though?

But former team mate Micah Richards, opened up about his old pal and defended him from the English media as he claimed they tried to tarnish Hart as arrogant.

Speaking on the BBC Match of the Day podcast [HITC], Richards said, “Joseph Hart, he was brilliant. Joseph Hart. He was an unsung hero, to City fans he’s a hero, but that whole England thing is nonsense, he has 60 or 70 caps.

“Sometimes you’re remembered for your most recent stuff and in the end it went sour for him, but you’re right, before that he was terrific.

“He was pivotal in Man City’s success as well.

“Some of his games in the Champions League were outrageous and I don’t like the way the media tried to tarnish him as arrogant.

“He works hard and he’s still in great shape now.”

Arrogant is something that surprises me.  From all we can see as fans is that Hart has been nothing but a team player, respectful and is brilliant at interacting with the fans post match.

That’s why he is such a fans favourite.

If that is classes as arrogance then I am all for it!
