You would think we lost against Motherwell on Saturday at Celtic Park.

Instead of lauding a hard fought win at home there seems to be an element in the media and the fans that are of the opinion that we were under threat of dropping points on Saturday.

The minute we stop creating the amount of chances we do on a weekly basis is the minute I start worrying about this side’s form.

But for the woodwork and some poor finishing, we would have been put of sight by half time.

Bar the own goal, Motherwell offered nothing on Saturday.

But you wouldn’t think it listeningto Hugh Keevins on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.

The veteran journalist was not happy with the Hoops performance when he said, “The word I’d apply to Celtic, unconvincing.

“They’ve lost their captain, McGregor, for next weekend’s game away to St Johnstone them because with minutes left to play and Celtic 2-1 up he was forced to take a red card hit because Hatate almost played in Louis Moult and Callum McGregor had to take him out.

“And now the captain is missing. Celtic were unconvincing.

“Missed chances. And even having had the lead twice at home, never looked as if they were home and hosed.”

Nearly 71% possession and 17 shots on goal with 6 of those on target and limiting Motherwell to 7 shots with only 2 on target [Sky Sports] is hardly unconvincing.

Yes, the usual flair and attacking intent wasn’t there from Celtic but we seriously can’t expect that every game can we?

Remember people used to say winning ugly was the mark if champions?

I take it that doesn’t apply to Celtic now does it?

As if Keevins would say anything even 50% Complimentary about CINCH League Champions!!

  • John says:

These games were supposed to be the mark of Champions. It was when the old and new Rangers were scraping through with the help of penalties and dementia Keevins says unconvincing. Not on top form but still on top.
