As the fallout of Scott Brown continues, many sports journalists and pundits have had their say. After 14 years, a nine in a row and Quadruple Treble, the captain leaves with the best wishes and thanks from the fans for a decade of dominance that also oversaw the demise of our Glasgow rivals.

One journalist, though, believes the Celtic hierarchy have made a massive mistake in allowing Brown to leave and take up a player/coach role at Aberdeen and he also warns that this could come and haunt the Parkhead side.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Mark Guidi didn’t hold back his opinion, “I can’t believe Celtic are letting him go. Great signing for Aberdeen, but for Celtic last season they messed up with the goalkeeping situation that I think, ultimately played a huge part in costing them the title and cost them ten in a row.

“This decision not to keep Scott Brown could have the same catastrophic consequences moving forward for the new manager and the club next season. This as a massive blow and should not have been allowed to happen.

“But I’m absolutely taken aback that Scott Brown has made this decision without knowing what’s going on at Celtic. Maybe he’s had his card marked is not fancied. But that said, I’m really taken aback that Celtic have allowed this to happen. I think the decision to let Scott Brown go will come back and haunt them.”

Guidi certainly didn’t hold back and from the social media feeds, many Celtic fans certainly feel the same. The saddest part of all this is that Brown will never get  to enjoy his final day in the sun at Paradise to say goodbye to the Celtic fans to whom he has brought so much joy.
