Remember that famous Scottish football expert Gabby Agbonlahor? Really? Nah me neither. But he seems to know a hell of a lot about not only the inner workings of the Celtic board but also the psyche of the Celtic fans.

Speaking to a media outlet that has unequivocal and expert coverage of Celtic, Football Insider, Agbonlahor gave us his insightful prediction of the future of Postecoglou and the reason why he’ll be forced out the club, but as we go, let’s take it apart bit by bit, “Everyone who is associated with Celtic, even everyone associated with Celtic who’s watching from afar can see that they need players.

You don’t even need to be associated with Celtic to realise that. Anyone with ANY knowledge of football, not just Celtic, can tell you that. However, he carries on“There’s a reason why Eddie Howe didn’t get the job and didn’t want the job.

So what was the reason? Was it the length of the deal? Was it the transfer budget? Was it that Howe would not be able to get his own staff in? And how does Agbonlahor know? Because no one else does except Howe and Dermot Desmond and, don’t quote me on this, but I’m sure the ex Aston Villa striker is not high on Howe and Desmond’s friends list to be privy to that information. Anyway:

“It’s because of exactly what’s happening now, there’s no money for transfers.

Celtic have just spent the best part of £15m so far this transfer window and the spending seems set to continue.

“Eddie Howe would not have wanted to take that job without being able to bring in the players he wanted. That’s a fact.

No manager would take a job without being able to bring in their own players. But he is right. That is a fact but it’s not rocket science. But we will continue:

“This manager has jumped at it because he’s hungry for a job and it’s a good job.

“But sometimes as a manager, you should not jump into a job where you’re destined to fail. You need a job where you can succeed. That’s by being given the right budget to improve the squad and it doesn’t look like he’s got that.

Does any manager jump into a job KNOWING that they will succeed? Is there a job anywhere in the footballing world where success is guaranteed? And how does Agbonlahor know what Celtic’s budget is?

But he saves the best for last and I nearly spat out my coffee when I read this:

“It could be a very short stay. I can tell you now, I’ve played at Celtic Park and even in a charity game, those fans are electric. If they don’t get their act together those fans will have him sacked in six or seven games.”

He’s played at Celtic Park in a charity game! Man I forgot about that! THAT’S how he has the inside scoop on the club. That one time he played in a bounce game for charity. And what a way to endear yourself to the Celtic support by claiming that they will have the manager booted out when every Celtic fan knows Ange needs time.

Agbonlahor. That great Celtic nobody. The media nobody that nobody listens to.
