Celtic Word On The Tweet

‘Used car salesman’, ‘Unforgivable’ – Celtic fans left reeling by new club update

|

Brendan Rodgers has left Celtic to join Leicester City and fans have been left fuming by his comments in his farewell statement.

The now controversial former Hoops boss offered more platitudes to supporters that rung hollow.

He told the official Celtic website:

It has been a real honour to serve the Club and its supporters across the past three seasons. I have been a Celtic supporter all my life and the reason I came to Glasgow was to work for the Club I had such love and affection for.

Nobody believes his words at this point after he walked out on the club in the middle of a title run-in and Scottish Cup push, on the even of visiting Tynecastle, arguably the venue we’ve struggled most in recently.

Supporters have been left reeling by the past 24 hours, never seriously believing that they would be left in the lurch by a man who has spoken so passionately about the club for the last three years.

Many feel he has used the club and the support for his own selfish gain, even if he has delivered unprecedented success domestically.

Where Celtic go now is unknown, but Neil Lennon will be in charge and that will at least unite fans.

These supporters took to Twitter tonight to share their thoughts on Rodgers’ comments and actions…
