With Celtic now settling down after a busy transfer window. The dissection begins as pundits, reporters and fan media start to analyse what kind of players have been brought in.

The analysis of departures was the talk of the day for Davie Provan on Go Radio as he absolutely ripped former Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie a new one after he chose to move to the second tier of English football with Bournemouth in a move that seems motivated entirely by money.

Provan wasn’t holding back when showing his disbelief at the move, “The big shock  for me,  Ryan Christie. What is that about? Why is Ryan Christie leaving Celtic to go to a club like Bournemouth?

“I mean it’s village green stuff down there.  I don’t care how much money he is on.

“Eleven and a half thousand when the ground is full.

“They get applauded off the pitch. They could lose two or three nothing and get applauded off the pitch.

“It’s unbelievable.

“You’ve got to question his ambition. And he will be getting a right sweet deal.

“It reflects very poorly in our game up here that we can’t match that kind of money anymore.

“For Ryan Christie to go into the second tier of English football. I could understand if it was a Southampton, Aston Villa or Everton.

“I don’t get it at all.”

Christie, of course, claimed he had always had a special place for Bournemouth as they apparently tried to sign him when he was at Inverness Caley Thistle.

Take from that what you will but I agree with Provan.

Christie’s ambition has been sidelined by the money.
