“Where do you start with that?” – Former Celtic star’s stunned reaction to live radio caller

The Celtic team at the moment are decimated with injury.

With no recognised striker on the field or bench for Sunday’s win against Motherwell, Celtic still managed to get a well deserved three points to keep the pressure on the top of the table amid this injury crisis.

But there is no pleasing everyone, including this Celtic fan called Chris, who called Clyde 1 Superscoreboard to give his rather controversial opinion on the teams performance, “My main point was the fact that today’s game was extremely hard to watch.

“I just think that  Turnbull you might as well have had him up in the stands with me.

“Juranovic, again, you may as well have had him up in the stands with me.

“I just felt like we were very, very poor. 

“We lack going forward. Turnbull, again, gives you nothing going forward.

“It was very very hard to watch as a fan.”

And to be fair, the level of criticism from that caller caught me out as well as former Celtic defender Mark Wilson, that could no believe what he was hearing as he responded, “Full of positives there eh? I mean, where do you start with that?

“Turnbull gives you nothing going forward?

“I disagree with that. Turnbull was a player played out of position today. And he  got an assist for the goal.

“He also set up Tom Rogic where he slips him in. He had loads of other interactions.

“Juranovic had a few attempts on goal as well and had a nice little cut back for Rogic.”

“So a number of points here that would tend to disagree and especially the period that Celtic are going through.”

The stats certainly don’t match up with what the Celtic fan was saying. Over 70% of possession and over 20 shots at goal, yes it was frustrating only to score one goal, but where it not for some good saves by the Motherwell keeper, it could have easily have been three or four nil.

At this stage, wins are crucial and given the amount of injuries we have, the points are the most important factor here.
