Not so long ago, Vital Celtic reported that Brazilian sensation, Fernando Henrique, was the subject of some interest from Celtic.

Claims were that the Hoops were interested in the £3.5m rated defensive midfielder but as the transfer window came and went, so did any further talk of Henrique joining the Glasgow club.

Back in October, Brazilian media outlet, Globo, reported that, “The midfielder’s name is debated in Celtic’s analysis area as one of the possible targets for next season.

“Fernando Henrique’s stake was sought for information on the possibility of a negotiation in January and the values desired by the Tricolor.”

And now, according to a report in The Daily Record, Henrique may be available at a knock down price due to his club, Gremio, being relegated to the Brazilian Serie B.

The reports claims, “Gremio are desperate to offload Celtic linked Fernando Henrique in January, according to reports in Brazil.

“NF state that Gremio are now keen to offload a number of players to slash their wage budget for the Serie B campaign next term.”

Whether or not Celtic will continue their interest remains to be seen but with Ange Postecoglou looking to add to his ranks this January, could a cut price deal tempt him to try and reignite his interest in the 20 year old?

With right back Vanderson set to be sold to Brentford, it seems that the mass exodus of players had already begun.

Henrique certainly comes with a lot of promise and is highly rated in his homeland.
