This is more like it.

This is the kind of content we like.

There is obviously the pre-conceived notion that all Real Madrid have to do to win tonight is just to turn up.

It’s not really all that surprising, to be honest. When you look at the amount of money the Spanish giants spend snapping up the world’s best players year in year out, they really should be beating every team on the planet.

But as they prepare for their visit to Glasgow, are they really underestimating the Hoops?

I wrote earlier today that Madrid forward, Vinicius Junior, may have let slip that Real’s preparation for tonight may not be as thorough as it should be.

Well, it seems that Celtic’s recent domestic dominance, coupled with their brand of attacking football, has not gone unnoticed.

At least in the Madrid blogging community.

Adithya Eshwarla writes for Madrid Universal and his latest piece, he has warned his club not to underestimate Scotland’s biggest club, “If one were to peek into Ange Postecoglou’s side’s recent form, the sight would be terrifying.

“The Scottish giants have not dropped points in their last eight games across all competitions.

“The last time they faced a loss was in mid-April and the streak has been running for 18 games.

“One can argue that the Scottish League does not offer the same level as other top European Leagues, but the statistics are an indication of the winning mentality of the team.

“Real Madrid are no strangers to upsets in the group stages of the UCL and will have to be wary of Celtic’s threat.”

And Eshwarla is correct.

How many times have Celtic faced some of Europe’s top clubs at Celtic Park and either beaten them or given them a fright?

The most recent example I can think of is when Brendan Rodgers’s side drew 3-3 with Manchester City in Glasgow then 1-1 in Manchester.

We have also seen off the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United and Juventus. All teams with a much higher calibre of player, but all played at a time when Celtic were dominant domestically and not afraid of anyone.

Hopefully, tonight will be another one of those famous nights.
