With the January window getting ever closer, Celtic fans will be looking on with interest to see what type of player Ange Postecoglou will look to bring to the club.

The Aussie boss has a clear strategy at the Hoops and will hopefully be allowed the freedom of the window to recruit the kind of player that suits his style of play.

It is generally accepted that some of the players recruited in the summer where not ‘Ange signings’ with players like Joe Hart, James McCarthy and Carl Starfelt all regarded as not the type of player Ange would want and that they were signed out of necessity.

But if the Celtic boss is given the opportunity, he has proven he has an eye for a player. Take Kyogo Furuhashi for example.

Hoops fans don’t need me to tell them the difference the Japanese international has made to the club. He has been a revelation.

And that is why Postecoglou is being urged to go back in for one of his summer targets in the winter window.

Daniel Emery at Football Fancast has said Ange must attempt to bring Aaron Hickey to the club in the next window.

Hickey was being targeted by Postecoglou in the summer and had a £3.5m bid rejected, but with senior players Greg Taylor out and Boli Bolingoli looking to have played his last game for the Hoops, the only recognised left sided full back Celtic have is young Adam Montgomery.

No doubt the left back position is a key weakness in the Celtic team and if they managed to tempt Hickey to Paradise then that would be seen as a major coup.

The only issue is the price. After Hickey’s most recent spate of form, his value would have soared and it is not now whether Celtic would still want him, but can they now afford him?
