I love these kinds of articles in Scotland.

When the media compare players from Ibrox to our players that have left for multi-million-pound deals.

It’s as if they are trying to tell us that, somehow, their players are worth just as much as ours even though they are nowhere near them when it comes to quality.

And how often have this media tried to hawk Alfie for squillions every bloody season when, in reality, no one will touch him with a bargepole?

But here is Kenny Miller bumping his gums about Morelos again and instead of trying to sell him, he is now begging the Colombian to stay on at Ibrox by using Odsonne Edouard as barometer of what can go wrong if you chose the wrong club.

As reported by the Daily Record, Miller said, “I don’t know what Michael Beale or the board are thinking when it comes to Alfredo’s future.

“But if the player himself is thinking about leaving the club, I’d urge him to be careful. Because the grass isn’t always greener. Alfredo is absolutely adored by the fans at the club.

“Look at Odsonne Edouard who left Celtic. He’s a very good player and was a top striker in Scotland. He’s gone to the Premier League in England with Crystal Palace and finding himself in and out of the team.”

Point number one. Edouard was a far more clinical striker in three seasons at Celtic than Morelos ever has been during his five at Ibrox. Eddy averaged a goal every 2.05 games, Morelos every 2.10. Not much in it, but still a better average.

The Frenchman is also a far better footballer. Period. Edouard could make the ball stick to his feet and ghost past strikers with ease. The ‘Buffalo’ uses his “strength” (or weight) to bustle past defenders and the only time the ball sticks to his feet is if the jam that has dripped from his donut falls onto his boots.

And lastly, and this is the most pertinent point, Eddy had clubs lining up for him. Ultimately, Palace seems to be the wrong choice for him but at least he had that choice. Morelos has nothing.

Zilch. Zero. Nada.

Even with three months left on his contract, he still has no offers on the table. Except maybe from them.

That tells you all you need to know.

Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?
