The Glasgow Derbies, this season, have been a much more enjoyable affair for the Celtic fans.

Barring the Scottish Cup semi final defeat and the first Ibrox loss, the Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou, has gotten to grips with this fixture pretty quickly with two wins, one defeat and a draw in the league this season.

But what impressed former Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas the most was the post match behaviour of the Celtic boss.

In his column in the Daily Express [via Daily Record], Nicholas said, “What I did appreciate at the end of the match was two coaches who showed each other great respect by shaking hands and embracing on the pitch.

“Ange Postecoglou looked like a proper Celtic manager, it was like a Jock Stein or Tommy Burns scenario.

“Giovanni van Bronckhorst also deserves enormous credit. Even their comments after the game, especially Ange’s, were great.

“There was none of that stuff of old with Neil Lennon’s smugness or anger.”

And whilst I agree with the crux of Nicholas’ point that Ange’s conduct was superb, was their really any need to caveat it with a swipe at Neil Lennon?

Both are very different managers but both wear their hearts on their sleeves in very different ways.

Whilst both are very honest with their feelings, Postecoglou is far more measured and calm where Lennon is more passionate and outspoken.

Smugness or anger is very harsh.

It’s almost as if he’s just added that in there to entice a few more clicks………
