We’re desperate for Celtic to return to action, given how active the club have been over the last few days. A number of new faces have moved to Celtic Park since the window opened a little over a week ago, and so it’ll be interesting to see who Brendan Rodgers picks to start in our first game back.
It seems as though his task will be particularly hard as, according to Craig Gordon, the new arrivals all look to be having a positive impact at the training ground.
Discussing their first sessions, he said: “That was good to see these guys in action, and see what they’re all about. They look like they’ve fitted into the squad really well already”.
He continued: “It’s exciting times, it’s good for the new faces coming in and for the rest of the guys as well, to recap and to make sure we’re all pulling in the right direction and moving forward'”.
Sometimes it can take new signings a few days to settle, and that can snowball somewhat and, before you know it, weeks can pass without an immediate impact. Judging by these comments it doesn’t look like that will be the case, as both Tim Weah and Oliver Burke appear to have made a quick start to life at Celtic Park.
You’ve got to think that it’s good that they’ve joined the club whilst we’re on a mid-season break, as that will give them a bit of extra time to adjust.
All things considered, it’s been a pretty perfect window so far, and these comments just back that up. Let’s hope for a few more signings over the coming weeks.
