Jota is going to one of those players that gets away isn’t he?

Uses the club to boost his profile and find a move elsewhere that pays more at a smaller club, but in a bigger league.

Like Paddy Roberts before him, I hope the Portuguese doesn’t go down that route because he is a special player.

But just how much will he be worth in the future if Celtic do manage to tie him down at Paradise?

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Mark Guidi has an idea and it looks like crazy money could be heading to Parkhead in a few years but only if Jota signs a long term deal, “He’s been superb for Celtic, and all things being equal, you’d expect a deal to get done.

“You don’t know, he might have other options. It’s not in his control.

“He can only sit down with Celtic and discuss terms once Celtic and Benfica agree a fee.

“I know it’s almost £6.8-6.9 million pounds. It’s a lot of money.

“But if you sign Jota, for that kind of money, permanently I’d imagine within two years you’re looking at minimum doubling your money.

“If he keeps going the way he’s going he will be nudging towards 20 million quid.

“So he’s a quality player. But I don’t think it’s a gimme.

“There’s a lot of work to be done at Celtic park next season. Still a lot of work to be done there.”

I hope he stays. Not just because of the sell on value but because Jota is a player Celtic fans love.

Full of flair and not afraid to take on his man, he is exciting and worth the season ticket fee alone.
