Well it makes a small change from reporting who the next Celtic manager will be so I thought I would continue to spread the joy and announce a possible summer transfer move for one of our top players.  Yes, I know, I’m a cheery soul.

English media sources are reporting that at least two English Premier League sides, Arsenal and Aston Villa, are considering a £35m raid for Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard. The French u21 international only has just 0ver 15 months left on his current contract and with no extension negotiations in sight, the Hoops will certainly be looking to cash in on their prized asset.

Was criticism of Neil Lennon over the top?

YES

NO

Edouard has been in great goal scoring form this season bagging 20 goals in all competitions. He is also the Scottish Premierships top goal scorer, and for a player apparently “off form” for much of the season, it is little wonder that Edouard is attracting suitors from the richest league in Europe.

Of course, this is not the first time the young Frenchman has been linked to a move to the EPL.  Ex Hoops boss, Brendan Rodgers, who brought Edouard to Celtic from Paris St Germain for a club record fee of £9m, has also been reported as a potential suitor to take the talisman to Leicester City.

There was also reported interest from La Liga as Spanish giants, Real Madrid, are also in the hunt for a striker and with Zinedine Zidane having great knowledge of his own countries talent, this is a move that could potentially have legs.

Either way, Celtic would be looking to garner the largest fee possible to offset the reported 40% sell on clause due to PSG should any potential sale go through in the summer.
