“Everyone else can do what they like” – The answer to the question cut from Postecoglou’s pre-match interview

As the minute’s silence debate has been settled by UEFA, it was interesting to read Ange Postecoglou’s answer to the question put him about the subject by a journalist in yesterday’s pre-match press conference.

I say read because I didn’t see it asked on Celtic TV’s official release of the interview on their YouTube channel.

The manager was asked about the potential of holding the minute’s silence and refused to be drawn on telling the fans how they should conduct themselves if it were to go ahead.

Postecoglou said [The National], “I will abide by whatever regulations there are.

“I’m not the keeper of people’s obligations.

“We live in a society where people can express their own values in any way they want.

“I will be doing it my way and my club will do it our way, and everyone else can do what they like.”

Celtic TV seems to have cut the question out of their release of the interview on their official YouTube channel and to be honest, it is probably the right thing to do.

No matter how Ange answered the question, and his answer was perfect, there would have been some kind of headline spun out of it.

At least this way, the manager keeps the focus on the football and nothing else.

As reported before, there will be no minute’s silence held and we await on a decision on whether or not the team are to wear black armbands.
