Celtic fans are delighted to hear that the club will be defending midfielder Scott Brown, after the captain was cited by football authorties for celebrating Sunday’s derby win over Rangers at Celtic Park.
It was announced earlier today that there will be a hearing on May 2nd to determine whether there’s been a breach of Disciplinary Rule 77 which is related to acting ‘in the best interests of Association Football’.
Following the news today that Celtic captain, Scott Brown and the Club have been cited by the SFA in relation to last Sunday’s game, a club spokesperson said: “Celtic will defend these charges vigorously.”

The Hoops have until Wednesday 10th April to offer a full response and it’s clear that we will not backing down in our defence of the long-serving club icon.
Brown was punched in the face, elbowed and set upon by three Rangers players during the derby victory, as Neil Lennon’s side moved to within touching distance of an eighth league title in a row.
It was an emotional match and Brown was ecstatic at full-time, celebrating the win. Somehow that’s been deemed beyond the pale for some in Scottish football and now we have to go through this nonsense.
These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
Get in. Stick it to the blazers! Actions are more louder than words. Stand up and support Broony all the way. ????

Time to call out these hypocrites in the SFA and defend our players. Scott Brown is being issued a ban for winning. We are being blamed for everything from Sevco fans crushing there own disabled supporters to people fighting in the streets.

Good! And while you’re at it, it’s time to start banning certain media outlets from Celtic park as well. Their own personal witchhunt of Broony since Sunday has been disgusting.

Good!!!
We the fans & shareholders DEMAND Celtic FC plc stand up to this blatant hypocrisy.

You better or the games a bogey! The gang at Ibrox are at fault, nobody else! Their sense of entitlement is the issue here.

It’s about time, Lawell earned his bonuses

Our Captain and the club have done nothing wrong, pull all our players out of Scotland matches until they withdraw these ludicrous charges. One club can’t take defeat and they charge both. Don’t back down!!!
