Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has recently admitted that he will switch his allegiance back to Celtic once former Liverpool colleague, Steven Gerrard, moves on from Rangers. He also unequivocally stated that Odsonne Edouard was clearly the best player in Scotland – bringing the Alfredo Morelos debate to an end.

His statements came as he answered questions on an Instagram live Q&A session (via The Scottish Sun) and I imagine his answer to the allegience question will put a smile on quite a few faces.

“Right now it’s Rangers because of Steven Gerrard but as soon as Steven leaves it’ll be Celtic I was a big Celtic man more than Rangers, I must say, but that’s had to change since Stevie got the job!”

As for the ongoing Edouard v Morelos debate, well, not so much of a debate really, more a media favourite, you can’t really fault the former England man’s logic.

“Edouard up front, the Celtic striker. Morelos gets sent off too much.”

Without overly getting into the debate on how the 2019/20 campaign should come to an end and what should happen with titles, promotions and relegations this season – despite his temporary Ibrox connection – it certainly sounds like he’s accepted it is rightly ours for nine in a row, as he turned his thoughts to ten in a row.

“Hopefully for him, because he’s my big mate, he can stop ten in a row. I know it is nine this year, but just to stop that sort of that run.”
