The close season is always one of rumour and conjecture when it comes to transfers.
All fans of all clubs will be waiting patiently to hear of any updates or news of signings coming to the club but no fans, I would say, have been more patient than the Celtic supporters when it comes to the permanent transfer of Cameron Carter-Vickers.
In, what seems like, my 100th article regarding this move, this is probably the update that catches my attention the most.
John Wenham is a Tottenham expert and presenter of the Lilywhite Rose podcast that has over 50k followers on Twitter and regularly gives transfer updates on his social media platform on the EPL club.
Speaking to Football Insider, Wenham said about CCV, “I have said all along that Celtic will find the money to get this one done.
“I think it is just a matter of time at this point. The fact they are back in the Champions League gives them the money to get it done.
“He came in there and has barely missed a minute. He’s an Old Firm goalscorer, a cup winner and a title winner.
“He is worth the money Tottenham will be asking for say, the money is there’.
“I expect an announcement or significant progress to be made very soon.”
Wenham has a reputation as being someone ‘in the know’ at Tottenham.
Let’s hope he is bang on the money with this one.
