Remember back when Ange had a go at journalists who claimed the title race was over after Celtic dropped two points against Dundee United?

Yeah, me too and what a difference one day in the Scottish Premiership can make.

With the Hoops rivals dropping another two points at home against Hearts and Celtic storming to a 2-0 win today at Motherwell, the gap at the top of the table closes to just four points and the title race is still wide open.

Most of us thought that anyway and the fact the title was being called in some punditry corners was a joke, but Ange has had the last laugh today.

When speaking post match after the win at Fir Park, a journalist asked Postecoglou if gaining a couple of points on Rangers was the icing on the cake today, the Celtic boss had a dig at the Scottish media, “I thought the Premiership race was over mate, so I’m not looking at the table anymore. We’re just kind of doing our own thing. It’s of zero significance for us.

“I think what’s more important to us is that we get some belief out today.

“As I said it’s one thing to get a victory here and to control the game here, like we did today, should give the boys real belief and confidence moving forward.

“We’ve still got some big games, starting Tuesday, so I think that’s the main thing for us we just go ahead and run our own race and I think, when you do that, we keep improving and we’ll see where you end up.”

And of course, as the dust settles on this win today, the Premiership table looks a lot healthier for the Celtic fans and they can now look forward to Tuesday afternoons Europa League tie with confidence.
