Relatively unknown Jason Marr was bought up in Glasgow’s east end not far from Celtic Park. He came through the youth ranks at Celtic firstly as a midfielder before adjusting to a right back role. He captained the u19s side under Willie McStay. He continued to impress – this time in a new centre back position. At the start of this season Jason joined up with Steven Pressley on a 6 month loan spell at Falkirk. He was a regular for the Bairns playing 14 league games and 3 League Cup games, netting on 1 occasion.

In January 2011 he returned to Celtic Park and then became Willie McStay’s first signing as Ross County gaffer on 7th January, joining them on a loan deal which keeps him there until the end of the season. He made his debut a day later in a cup tie at Tannadice, resulting in a 0-0 draw v Dundee United; which was a fine achievement not to enable the cup holders to break the deadlock.

He has been an ever present for Ross County and is a player we can look forward, with excitement, to seeing in the future. He is a local lad through the youth system and a true Celt through and through. Although he is a great young player, many people will feel that it is a far cry away for him to ever make the grade at Celtic as we sign people worldwide like Majstorovic, who will take his place: but in this young Hoop the club has real hopes and optimism for him to progress into a fine homegrown first team star.
