Celtic fans are pushing back against the media narrative that fans misbehaved during Sunday’s massive win away to Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
Scott Brown’s winner moved the Hoops eight points clear of Rangers in second place, sparking wild scenes of celebration in the away ends.
Those celebrations appear to have angered some, with Kilmarnock releasing a statement criticising fans for breaking seats and entering the pitch.
There have been headlines for days about the behaviour of the support, clearly an attempt to vilify the support unfairly and holding us to different standards than other clubs.
Dundee fans also entered the field of play against Livingston at the weekend, while Rangers fans have done similar on multiple occasions over the past few years.
Why is it only Hoops supporters who get dragged through the media in disparaging terms?
These supporters have had enough of it and took to Twitter this week to share their thoughts…

That doesn’t suit the media frenzy. Celtic supporters had to painted as the baddies. Take away the shine of an 8 pt lead

Should actually ask about Kilmarnock safety certificate , if that’s how easily those seats buckle under a bit of excitement , supporters have grounds for compensation

This a serious health and safety issue,it’s obvious the seats where not stamped on and indeed did buckle, some would say supporters should not celebrate but we all can’t be unsuccessful

Serious question ! Celtic should push the health and safety issue before paying a penny ! Ok Kilmarnock let’s see your safety certificate from the local authority and the last inspection date !

Stood on a chair there myself and fell too pieces, no malice just standing celebrating and fell apart!

It’s also wear n tear over the years as those seats were put in that stand in the 1990s, This happens at all grounds with all supports now.

Overexuberance…..no vandalism. And by all accounts, they are made out of the cheapest material going.
