I don’t know how many times or how many different ways I need to write about this. ANGE POSTECOGLOU NEEDS TIME.

That felt a wee bit better but not so much at the same time.

Everyone knew the scale of the job in front of the Celtic gaffer. Hell, even the majority of the Celtic fans were prepared to forego this season as long as they saw improvements in the direction the team is taking.

Better football and more team cohesion is what the fans wanted to see and considering the size of the job Ange had on his hands, it is fair to say out of all Celtic managers in recents times, possibly ever, he has inherited one of the biggest rebuild jobs in the clubs history.

However, this seems to matter not a jot to Michael Stewart as he claims that Postecoglou will find himself under more pressure if results don’t improve. Only one game into the domestic season. And off the back of a 4-2 away win in Europe.

Yeah, you can’t make it up. Pundit after pundit have been lining up to put the boot into Ange and to be honest, it is no surprise.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, as transcribed by the Daily Record, Stewart said, “I don’t think there’s any question. That is a major issue for Celtic.

“They’re trying to rectify it with Starfelt and Joe Hart but it’s going to take time.

“And more recruits as well, because the quality isn’t at the level that they’re looking for.

“They weren’t great goals to concede and it’s going to be something Postecoglou is concerned about.

“All he can do at the moment is muddle his way through and buy himself time.

“The Jablonec win was a positive, but if results don’t improve, it just continues to heap more and more pressure and makes it more difficult for him to implement what he’s trying to do and sign the players he wants.”

Yep. There are no words.
