This is probably the most definitive answer you can get to the Carter-Vickers question so far.
Unless he signs on the dotted line, what Tottenham fan/expert and journalist Alasdair Gold said on his podcast is about as close as you’ll get to a confirmation that CCV is going to sign for Celtic this summer.
That’s what I’m taking away from this anyway.
The saga continues and as I wrote yesterday, it seems those closely connected to the London club are convinced that the big American defender is going to commit his long term future to the club.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold said, “He will be someone that will be leaving [Spurs] this summer.
“The option that Celtic have is £6m with the potential for £4m more in add-ons eventually if he meets certain criteria. He’s had a brilliant season.
“He’s got Premier League clubs interested in him.
“He could be a Premier League player.
“My gut says that Celtic will sign him and I think he’ll want to stay at Celtic because he’s got a great thing going there.”
And here is the thing. He HAS got a good thing going here.
If his long term ambition is to play in the EPL, what better stage than the Champions League next season to sell himself.
And whilst he is doing that, he could be adding to his medal and caps whilst doing it.
It’s a no brainer.
