We are just over an hour away from the January transfer window closing and Celtic have not yet signed a first-team defender.

The Hoops announced the acquisitions of Americans Andrew Gutman and Manny Perez earlier this evening but both will be heading back to their homeland on loan for the rest of the season.

Supporters are desperate to see the club strengthen across the defensive line, with the priority position thought to be at right-back, where the veteran Swede Mikael Lustig has struggled for the last 18 months.

Fans are expecting announcements before the window shuts at midnight, with the latest reports suggesting we are still working on a deal for Borussia Dortmund man Jeremy Toljan.

It looks likely he will arrive but as the hour draws closer, anxiety is creeping up on social media, with some worried we won’t do the business required.

These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
