As Celtic’s hunt for a right back continues, the speculation regarding Yan Couto has reached fever pitch as the defender was in attendance at Celtic’s 3-0 Europa League victory against Jablonec at Celtic Park.

It is claimed in The Daily Record, that the atmosphere and hospitality Couto experienced at Paradise was enough to convince the young 19 year old Brazilian to join the Parkhead club as he bids to play European and first team football this season.

With the fans allowed back into stadiums, Celtic Park was a sell out and the fans did not disappoint with their party atmosphere and non stop singing as they spurred their hero’s onto victory and into a final qualification match with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar this Wednesday night.

With Manchester City already rejecting a bid from an English Championship side to take Couto permanently, it now seems that a loan option is preferred and Celtic now face competition from Spanish side Girona in the race for his signature.

Current right back Anthony Ralston has been in magnificent from for Celtic so far this season and it looks like Celtic have found themselves a new player as the Scottish full back enjoys a new lease of life under Ange Postecoglou,  “I was want to keep contributing to the team and keep learning and developing in the role the manager wants me to play.

“And if I can keep providing some goals throughout the season then I’ll be happy.”

But as Celtic’s only recognised right back,  they still do need cover and see Couto as the perfect addition to the side to provide that.
