Thursday night saw a much welcome return to Scottish football. It also brought a reminder of the level of quality we as a club are facing every week. Against any decent opposition Rangers would have been torn apart. Yet for some reason, despite how poor they are, teams seem insistent on giving them so much respect.

Time and time again Hibs sat back and let them play around their box, a dangerous game with Nick Walsh as the referee. Their clearances were almost under 9 level as they barely left the 18 yard box. A very poor display from a Hibs team that look devoid of direction or quality.

Today is our turn and in a World Cup that has for me been so unimportant, I have barely watched it. I’m so ready to see the Bhoys back in action. Pittodrie is always a tough place to go and I like what Jim Goodwin is building up north. They certainly will provide a tougher test for both ourselves and Rangers in the Dons next two fixtures. A win puts the pressure back on them, extending our lead to 9 once more and forces them to head to Aberdeen with the knowledge that any slipped points will be seized upon by us.

Take our chances and we are too good not to win games. Despite what the media might say, this league is entirely in our own hands. Win today and set a marker for the second half of the season.

Celtic hold the record for most Scottish Cup Final wins. Who scored the winners in these TEN finals?
