The sacking of the Ibrox manager started a chain of events that is now turning into a bit of a managerial circus.

And I say that fully aware that we were part of our very own circus almost two years ago when the club seemed to be holding out for Eddie Howe.

Thankfully, that all worked out for us in the end and we have a man in charge that has captured not only the heart of the fans, but the trust of the board.

But as GvB finds himself signing on this week, who is the most likely candidate that could face Ange in the dugout come the New Year Derby in January?

BBC reporter Kheredine Idesanne revealed that there are two names that have been mentioned to him that he calls ‘strong contenders’.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Kheredine said, “I can certainly mention two names that were given to me as strong contenders for the vacant Ibrox hot seat.

“One is Shaun Dyche, who had ten years at Burnley. Ten successful years in terms of the way he managed to maintain their elite top-flight status in England.

“He was sacked earlier this year back in April so he is out of work. His preference is to try to get one of the top jobs in England and by top jobs, I mean he still sees himself as a Premier League manager.

“The other that was given to me was Kevin Muscat, which is a fascinating one.

“Rangers supporters will be very familiar with that name. He’s a former Rangers player. He is the current manager of Yokohama Marinos who have just won the J league in Japan.”

I don’t know about you, but neither of these names fill me with any kind of genuine fear or dread.

And I am sure the Celtic manager will feel the same.

Ange will be Ange. He will just concentrate on the things that he can control and block out all the noise.

Having a manager that is so laser-focused gives me great confidence that no matter who they appoint, it will not make a bit of difference to us continuing our domestic dominance.

Who am I? Can you guess who this former Celt is?
