Will he, won’t he? Jota to Celtic is a move that I think, may not happen this season and I’ll tell you why.

It’s quite simple. There has been absolutely no chat about it. Anywhere.

No speculation, no conjecture. Nothing.

And generally when that is the case the general feeling I get (just going from my experience doing this job) is that there won’t be a deal done for the popular winger.

I genuinely hope I am wrong, but my gut tells me we need to prepare for life without Jota at Paradise.

And it seems that Andy Halliday shares my scepticism.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Halliday said, “Listen, if I’m a Celtic fan and I’m looking at it from the outside in, I’m thinking why is it not done now?

“He’s been performing for the most part of the season. Why did Celtic not approach for a permanent transfer in January?

“But I also know, being in and around football that these things do take time and maybe Jota is looking to see how the summer goes, sits back with his family and makes a decision then.

“But he certainly looks as if he is enjoying the football at Celtic.”
