Celtic’s win against Ross County was more than just another step towards the title for Celtic.

It was a message to those people who has been questioning the teams bottle ever since the Scottish Cup exit last Sunday afternoon.

With Celtic regaining their six point advantage after Jota’s 87th minute goal effectively sealed the points, the team go into next weeks Glasgow Derby knowing that if they win, the title is effectively done and dusted.

But it was all the negativity in the press and pundit world we had to listen to all week that seemed to inspire this answer from the Celtic gaffer.

When asked by BBC presenter Rob McLean on Sportsound if the win against The Staggies was ‘normal service resumed’, Postecoglou replied, “You know what? I think normal service got interrupted. I mean we lost the semi-final and extra time with a single goal.

“So, you know, we never felt like anything really changed dramatically after the last week and certainly in terms of the league it didn’t affect us.

“So you know, we train well, I said we were disappointed with last week, but I thought difficult place here to play against a difficult opponent I thought we handled it really well today.”

Well said by the Celtic gaffer.

To even suggest that the bottle of the team had gone when we are unbeaten in the league since September and had also come from behind to against Hibs to win the Premier Sports Cup is some of the laziest football punditry I had heard in a long time.

Or maybe it was just wishful thinking on some people’s part?
