The day Neil Lennon left ignited a chain of events that not one of us could have predicted.

From the ill fated three month courtship of Eddie Howe only to be rebuffed the night before the prom, to the unprecedented 105 (or i was it 106?) days without a manager. However long it was, it was one day too long.

With Dermot Desmond reeling from the eventual knock back from Howe, there was persistent and constant speculation on would then become the new manager. This site was one of, if not THE first, to break the news on the day the Howe deal broke down that Postecoglou was front runner to land the job.

Ange Postecoglou was eventually unveiled on the 10th June as Celtic’s new manager. Neil Lennon was sacked/left the position on the 24th February.

On that day, one person took to twitter to suggest a manager no-one had heard of back then but all Celtic supporters love now.

Sacha Pisani is a digital journalist and Opta Stats expert from Melbourne, Australia and tweeted at 7.10am:

He then said at 7.13am, “Celtic would be absolutely mad not to have a chat with Ange. Could do a lot worse than the #FMarinos manager. #CelticFC”

He then quantified his suggestion with a follow up tweet at 7.52am on the 24th February, with an interview of him asking Ange Postecoglou what his future plans are here:

What’s on the horizon for Yokohama F.Marinos manager Ange Postecoglou? Asked him about his future plans. … Would love to see him at Celtic. #FMarinos #JLeague #CelticFC”

Who could have predicted back then that Postecoglou was already being touted as a possible replacement and just imagine how the team would look now, if Celtic took heed of Pisani’s advice at the time.
