Celtic have been sensationally linked for a shock move for fans favourite Fraser Forster.
According to The Daily Record, the Southampton goalkeeper has been put to the top of Ange Postecoglou’s shopping list as the Hoops gaffer looks to bolster his options between the sticks.
Forster was an incredible hit with Celtic fans as his heroics in the the League Cup final against Rangers helped the club on it’s way to a Quadruple Treble.
Incredibly, if Celtic can pull off the move, this will be Forsters FOURTH loan spell at Paradise in what has become a second footballing home to the big 6ft 7″ keeper.
Forster will forever be remembered as one of Celtic’s top keepers in recent history and with a medal haul of four Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup, the big Geordie keeper certainly knows what it takes to succeed at Paradise.
Celtic did try to land Forster last season as the club made the big push for ten in a row but the big stopper wanted to try and make his mark at The Saints, “It’s been a strange few years, it’s been a tough few years.
“Obviously it’s a club I love a lot. I had some fantastic times here in the past and I’ve always been keen to come back and try and play here.
“That’s all I wanted to do in the summer. I wanted to come back and give it a go and everyone’s been fantastic with me since I’ve been back.”
However, according to the report, Celtic have been warned to expect to pay a more sizeable share of Forster’s £130,000 weekly salary should the club be successful in persuading him to return this summer.
