Another Celtic star has been tipped for the Parkhead exit door this summer in what will be the largest player turnover Celtic have seen in a generation.  Utility player, Nir Bitton has been linked with a move back to his homeland in Israel as Hapoel Be’er Sheva look to make a move for the big Israeli.

According to Scottish media, Bitton is being tracked by the mid table strugglers as they attempt to turn their fortunes around in the Israeli Ligat ha’Al.  Sheva are currently struggling this season in sixth place and a massive twenty six points behind leaders Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Be’er Sheva last won their domestic league back on 2017/18 season as they sealed their third league title in a row, but have struggled to make a mark domestically since their last title win and they see Bitton as an ideal candidate to get them back on top.

Bitton was signed by departed boss, Neil Lennon, back in 2013 from FC Ashdod and has so far made 149 appearances for the Hoops over the last eight years.

In recent seasons, the Israeli international has been used sparingly by Celtic and mainly as central defensive cover, but this season he has failed to make his mark on a struggling Celtic due to injury.

If Be’er Sheva did make their move, 20% of any transfer fee garnered would be owed to FC Ashdod. The 29 year old would join former team mate and fan favourite, Hatem Elhamed, in the Israeli league as he looks to rebuild his flailing club career.
