Celtic dealt brilliant weekend injury boost

Ahead of the trip to Ross County this weekend, Vital Celtic reported that Josip Juranovic faces a long time on the sidelines after the injury he picked up in Celtic’s disappointing loss in the Scottish Cup.

The report also claimed that Cameron Carter-Vickers may also face some time on the injury list but we are yet to receive any confirmation of that.

But at least there is some good news on the way as a report [The Sun] claims that Hoops striker Giorgos Giakoumakis could be on his way back to first team action quicker than first thought.

The big Greek forward was spotted in Lennoxtown taking part in some training drills and this is news that will delight both Ange Postecoglou and the Celtic fans.

Giakoumakis has proved over the last few months that his contribution to the team, although not as creative as Kyogo, his physicality and directness is invaluable and key to breaking down teams that play in a more ‘bullish’ manner (for want of a better impartial phrase.).

Giakoumakis has really stepped up to the fore in Kyogo’s absence and has score 13 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions, netting 9 in 16 in the league.

Not to mention back to back hattricks against Dundee and Ross County, the hitman certainly has been a breath of fresh air and the Hoops fans will be hoping that he will be in contention for Sundays match at Dingwall.
