After a very impressive first leg display despite going down to ten men late into the first half, Celtic only have a 1-1 draw to show for their valiant efforts in the first leg qualifier at Celtic Park.

Nir Bitton’s moment of madness left Celtic in the mire as the whole complexion of the team and performance changed after the big Israeli decided to play pin the finger on the donkey after the diving antics of Anders Dreyer drew a furious reaction from the centre half.

The diving Dreyer finally got his just desserts after he was red carded for another Tom Daley special in the second half, but former Celtic striker, Chris Sutton left his furious reaction not for Bitton, but for the calamitous Vasilis Barkas.

The Greek goalie had a nightmare at the Danes equaliser when he appeared to pull his hands away from the shot from the Brazilian Evander, and Sutton in his post match analysis for Premier Sports, let rip at the Hoops player,  “I’ve got to say, the goalkeepers had a nightmare with the goal. All in all a disappointing night from a game that Celtic should have won pretty comfortably.

“He’s had a shocker. A real shocker. Does he pull his hands away? I mean it’s not going into the top corner. It’s halfway up the post! Why would he pull his hands away?

“Whatever way you want to look at it, it’s an absolute shocker! It’s killed the manager. He’s killed the team.

“It’s not rocket science. Ange Postecoglou needs to make new signings and quickly. If Fraser Forster was in goal he’s catching that”

Celtic still have eight days to prepare for the second leg and Barkas has now given Postecoglou a selection headache. Does he stick with Barkas or does he twist and go with Bain?

Whatever happens one thing is clear, Barkas is never a Celtic goalkeeper and the club now need to cut their losses on the international.
