Now that Ange  Postecoglou has clearly got the fans onside with his brilliant brand of exciting football, a comparison has been made about the Celtic gaffer that may (or may not depending on how you feel about him) leave the Hoops fans lost for words.

Ange Postecoglou has somehow managed to turn players who were seriously under performing last season and seasons before last, into what looks like brand new signings.

Anthony Ralston, Ryan Christie and Tom Rogic all look like different players under Ange and you could even extend that to Greg Taylor and Calum McGregor who have both found a new engine under the Aussie boss.

Hugh Keevins, speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, compared the Postecoglou effect to a former Celtic boss that led the Hoops to a legendary Invincible season, “He’s had a remarkable affect on both players and fans alike.

“The players clearly respond to him. McGregor is looking good in his captaincy. Christie is looking much, much better.

“He’s got that kind of Brendan Rodgers thing about him, Ange Postecoglou.

“And believe me I am not comparing Ange Postecoglou to Brendan Rodgers but players who were at Celtic Park got better when Brendan Rodgers came in.

“And players like Ryan Christie you had a very poor season last season, are getting better quickly.

“And the supporters have taken him to their hearts but he did say in the the newspapers that he has yet to do anything to deserve the acclaim.

“He is looking to do something tangible that makes Celtic better.”

High praise indeed and the Celtic fans will hope that Postecoglou will replicate the silverware Rodgers picked up in his first season.
