As Scotland prepare for their first appearance at a major international tournament in 23 years, the Euro’s will give the squad an opportunity to showcase their talents and also put themselves in the shop window for a summer move.

One man tipped for a move is ex Celtic player Kieran Tierney. Tierney earned a £25m move to Arsenal back in August 2019 and has took the English Premier League by storm. His form has been exceptional to the point that with three years left on his current contract, Mikel Arteta is keen to extend it to ward off any suitors.

Former Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, however is convinced that Tierney will eventually move on from Arsenal and his likely destination would be Manchester City, “Ambition and finances meant he made the right call for his career. For me, he’s Arsenal’s best player.

“I could see him going to Manchester City, he’s got all the tools to play for them.”

With Celtic reportedly having a 25% sell on clause inserted into the original transfer deal, the Hoops could be looking at a multi million pound cash injection if Manchester City decided to step up any interest in the defender.

Tierney is highly rated by his manager with Arteta claiming he could be the next Arsenal captain, ‘I think he can be Arsenal captain as he has the respect and admiration of every member of the staff and every player.

‘It is just the way he is. He does it in a natural way. He is a really shy boy as well but he represents all of us in the club; all of the values that we want to instill and are in the DNA in this club.’

With Scotland’s Euro’s campaign about to kick off in less that 24 hours and the defender being valued around the £70m mark, if Tierney performs as well as Celtic fans know he can, it won’t just be Manchester City that will be vying for his signature.
